The opportunity:
Human Resources is looking for an HR Advisor to join the team. This position will work closely with the designated HR Consultants while serving as a main point of contact for clients in their assigned portfolio. The HR Advisor will support leaders in practical HR matters, which includes oversight of recruitment processes, first line interpretation of collective agreements and policies, and expert guidance in the areas of performance management, staff development, and organizational effectiveness.

The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:
- A University degree with courses in human resources is required.
- CPHR designation, strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of directly related HR Generalist experience is required.
- Experience working in a complex unionized environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including; total rewards, labour relations, diversity, and training, is required.
- Strong understanding of respective employment legislations and practices is required.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills, including the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, is required.
- Demonstrated conflict management skills are required.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint is required.
- Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to establish and foster supportive working relationships is required.
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Good time management skills are required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
